Akshay Kumar and Leonardo DiCaprio honoured for doing their bit for the environment

Bollywood celebrities have been actively working towards environmental preservation. From Dia Mirza supporting conscious environmentalism to Bhumi Pednekar taking up the role of a climate warrior, celebrities have left no stone unturned in doing their bit for the environment. Now, Akshay Kumar has been recognised for his efforts for the environment. The Bollywood superstar and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio have been honoured by the Golden Globe Honours Foundation.

A source close to the development told a daily that, "Akshay has been instrumental in spreading awareness around the issue of poor sanitation in India or encouraging people to maintain cleanliness. On the other hand, Leonardo DiCaprio has worked actively towards protection of biodiversity, ocean and forest conservation and climate change. That’s why their efforts have been recognised. Other actors on the list include Emma Watson and Sarah Margaret Qualley."
