Rimi Sen started off her journey in Bollywood on a promising note. The actress made her acting debut in Hungama (2003) and went on to star in films like Dhoom (2004), Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Phir Hera Pheri (2006) and a few others. Later, in 2015, she participated in Bigg Boss 9. Rimi, who has been missing for quite some time now, spoke to a leading daily and revealed that she had auditioned for Swades and Munna Bhai MBBS.
"I had done a commercial with Ashutosh Gowariker, so, I had a cordial relationship with him and hence I also auditioned for ‘Swades’. But later on, Gayatri Joshi got it. I had also auditioned for ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and had even received a positive response also for it, but eventually, Gracy Singh played the part. So, there have been several such instances and opportunities that I have lost, but then such things are part and parcel of an actor’s life, one has to take it positively in their stride," Rimi told.

In a previous interview, Rimi revealed she did Bigg Boss 9 for money. She said, "See we do few things for fame and some for money. So I did Bigg Boss only for money. They paid me around 2.25 crore for 49 days and nobody can earn this much money in such a short time."
