'Is Mrs. Jonas going to chime in at any point,' asks Mia Khalifa as she takes a sly dig at Priyanka Chopra for not talking about the on-going Farmers' Protest

Mia Khalifa has taken a sly dig at actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas for being silent over the on-going farmers' protest in India. Mia took to Twitter recently and asked Priyanka to comment on the ongoing farmers’ protests in India. Mia, wrote that she wonders if ‘Mrs Jonas will chime in at any point’ and that it gives her ‘Shakira during the Beirut devastation vibes’.

"Is Mrs. Jonas going to chime in at any point? I’m just curious. This is very much giving me shakira during the Beirut devastation vibes. Silence." However, Mia soon received backlash from a large section on the internet as they pointed out that Priyanka had tweeted about the farmers back in December itself.

In December, Priyanka, quote tweeting a message from singer Diljit Dosanjh, had written, “Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crises is resolved sooner than later.”

On February 3, Mia joined singer Rihanna, activist Greta Thunberg, influencer Amanda Cerny, writer Rupi Kaur, and others as she tweeted about the farmers' protest. She had tweeted, "What in the human rights violations is going on?! They cut the internet around New Delhi?! #FarmersProtest".
