Diljit Dosanjh shares 'Certificate Of Appreciation' from Income Tax Department amid reports of probe over funding Farmers protest using 'foreign money'

Actor-Singer Diljit Dosanjh is in trouble as the Indian Income Tax Department has initiated an investigation into his funding sources. Diljit had donated Rs. 1 crore last month for the protesting farmers. Taking cognizance of a complaint filed by the Legal Rights Observatory (LRO), the Income Tax department launched the inquiry. The funds are allegedly routed by him from the UK/Canada for bankrolling the ongoing farmers’ protest in India.

Reacting to the news of an I-T probe, Diljit has now shared an image of a certificate of appreciation bestowed upon him by the Ministry of Finance for his contribution towards building this great Nation. He wrote, “Ah Lao Fadh Lao Mera PLATINUM CERTIFICATE “In Recognition of the Contribution Towards Building THIS GREAT NATION” Twitter Te Beh Ke Apne Aap Nu Desh Bhakt Dasan NAAL Tusi Desh Bhakt Ni Ban Jande.. Odey Lai Kam Karna Penda..” (Here, take my Platinum Certificate In Recognition of the Contribution Towards Building THIS GREAT NATION. Just being on Twitter won't make you a nationalist, for that you also have to work)

Diljit has always been vocal about supporting the farmers and helping them in times of need. Talking about the protest, the actor-singer had earlier said, "I want to urge the government to accept the demand of farmers. I would also like to urge the media to support us, these farmers are sitting peacefully with their demands, please show that and support us."
