Shah Rukh Khan’s role in DDLJ is my favourite; waiting for a good offer from OTT: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor recently had a virtual one-on-one with an eminent journalist making a few startling and interesting revelations. Since the year 2020 has been ruled by the OTT as theatres were shut down due to coronavirus, Ranbir was also asked about his views on digital in the interview. When asked about whether he would be open for an OTT debut, he surprised everyone with an affirmation and also spoke about his favorite director, film and role.

Talking about venturing into the digital medium and hopping on to the bandwagon, Ranbir said, “I have not got any good offers from OTT yet. I am definitely not shying away from it. Yes, it is a privilege to be a part of the movies, to have your films release in theatres and I am grateful that I get to be a part of that privilege. But I have nothing against taking up OTT, I am just waiting for an offer."

On the other hand, when a fan joined the virtual interview and asked him about his favourite film, director and the role he would have loved to play, Ranbir’s answer made his and SRK’s fans euphoric. Answering the question, Ranbir said, “When you say outside India, then my favourite director is Steven Spielberg, he has made films in almost all genres. I am a huge fan of the 90s films like Braveheart and Life Is Beautiful is an all-time favourite film. A role that I would have loved to do would be Shah Rukh Khan’s in DDLJ. I don’t think there is a better role than that and I think Mr Shah Rukh Khan played it brilliantly in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the way he performed it always blows my mind.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra opposite Alia Bhatt. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy.
