Nawazuddin Siddiqui's brother approaches POCSO court seeking anticipatory bail in alleged child molestation case

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's youngest brother Minazuddin Siddiqui has approached a special POCSO court seeking anticipatory bail in a case of alleged molestation of a minor girl in his family in 2012. Special Judge Sanjive Kumar Tiwari will be hearing his plea on December 16.

In October, the court stayed the arrests of Nawazuddin, his brothers Fayazuddin and Ayazuddin along with their mother Mehrunissa. But no relief was granted to Minajuddin. His counsel Nadeem Zafer Zaidi told a media agency that his client sought relief on the ground that the arrest of other co-accused in the case has already been stayed by the high court.

Nawazuddin's estranged wife Aaliya had filed the case alleging the molestation of a minor child by one of the three brothers of the actor in 2012 with other family members ignoring his conduct. The case was registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. After the case was registered, a judicial magistrate also recorded the victim's statement under section 164 of the CrPC in which she corroborated the allegations in the case.
