Was inspired by Bruce Willis, Pierce Brosnan and Amitabh Bachchan for my character Aryan in Dhoom 2: Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Uday Chopra starrer Dhoom 2 completed 14 years today. The film released in 2006 and became a stupendous hit with its catchy tracks, style and A-list star cast. It also stood out for giving us Hrithik as the nation’s eye-candy. He achieved tremendous success post his debut film Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai but was relegated to boy-next-door roles and becoming the national crush of 2000s but Dhoom 2 made him smoking hot.

Hrithik looked so dishy in the film that in front of his smouldering looks even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan kind of paled in comparison. Interestingly, Hrithik revealed how he actually ‘became sexy’ in an Instagram post and gave credit for his transformation to fashion designer Anaita Shroff Adajania and taking inspiration from Bruce Willis, Pierce Brosnan and Amitabh Bachchan. Sharing a collage of his different looks as he played ‘the master of disguises’, he wrote, “DHOOM2 was my induction into the school of how to be sexy . Something I had to be taught hands on by our fabulous ANAITA.”

He further wrote, “Aryan was a side of me I didn’t know existed . I remember breathing and meditating many times a day to find that composure which I could envision Aryan having but had no idea how to produce. I was inspired by 3 actors for this role. Bruce Willis, Pierce Brosnan and Mr Bachchan for his pauses. I kinda threw them into a mixer and out came Aryan. I think a bit of Aryan will live on forever inside me.”

Dhoom 2 was probably the best film in the Dhoom franchise and wins hands down for its story, style and charisma.
