Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are celebrating 13 years in Bollywood today. The leading ladies of the Hindi film industry debuted on the same day way back in 2007. Deepika made a sensational debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om while Sonam’s Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor released.

Marking their special day, the actresses took to Instagram to share their happiness about their maiden films. Sharing a picture with Shah Rukh and director Farah Khan, Deepika wrote, “Only & Only Gratitude...#13YearsOfOmShantiOm #13YearsOfShantiPriya @farahkhankunder @iamsrk.” Earlier in the day, she had changed her social media name to ‘Shantipriya’ giving credit to her onscreen character’s name.

On the other hand, Sonam took to Instagram to reminisce about stepping into Bollywood with the Sanjay Leela Banshali film Saawariya and wrote, “13 years ago I debuted with 'Saawariya'. Each and every moment in this industry has been a blessing. The good bad and ugly has all been intensely cinematic. Thank you India and thank you for each and every filmmaker who believed in me. I've been blessed to have worked with the best who've pushed me to give my best. (This image is also my first photo shoot ever, shot by the incredible @patrickdemarchelier for @vogueindia).”

Om Shanti Om became a huge hit but Saawariya failed to light up the box office.
