'We are reviving RK Films, I'll be directing a love story,' says Randhir Kapoor

Established by late Raj Kapoor in 1948 with the film Aag, Bollywood's prestigious and iconic RK Films has given numerous hits including Awaara, Shri 420, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Post the demise of the 'showman', his son Randhir Kapoor took over. The last film produced under the banner was Aa Ab Laut Chalen in 1999. After 2 decades, Randhir, in an interview with a leading daily, told that he will be reviving RK Films in a couple of months. Aa Ab Laut Chalen was directed by Rishi Kapoor, who passed away on April 30 this year due to leukemia.

The actor further added that he will be directing a love story too. "Well, it’s happening. We are reviving the RK banner now. It will happen soon in a couple of months. The film will be a love story. I shall direct it," Randhir told. Talking about the cast, Randhir refused to divulge in more details and promised that the announcement will be made with a bang. "Well, I can’t tell you anymore about it at this point of time (smiles)...But we’ll throw out the news of the cast with a bang," he added.
