Gurmeet Choudhary-Debina Bonnerjee test positive for COVID-19; actors to be under home-quarantine

Since March, India is battling the novel Coronavirus. Now, as the nation is yet to flatten the curve completely, the number of cases are increasing at an alarming rate. The COVID-19 virus has wreaked havoc in Bollywood. Today, September 30, actor-couple Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee have tested positive. Informing about their COVID-19 diagnosis, Gurmeet issued a statement on Twitter. He said that they have isolated themselves at home and requested those who came in close contact with them to stay safe. 

"My wife Debina & I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. We are touch wood, doing fine and are taking all the necessary precautions, in isolation at home. We request all those who have been in contact with us to take care. Thank you all for your love and support," Gurmeet wrote on Twitter.

After a long break due to the lockdown, Gurmeet resumed the shoot of his film The Wife in August. The actor wrapped the filming this month. The actor returned to Mumbai from Jaipur on September 17. During an interview with a leading daily, Gurmeet mentioned that Debina was planning a trip to Goa since he is back after completing the film's shoot.

Workwise, Debina was seen in Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga. On the other hand, Gurmeet was last seen in J.P. Datta's film Paltan in 2018.
