Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor to together hunt ghosts in 'Bhoot Police'

Last year, director Pavan Kirpalani announced a film starring Saif Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal. The horror-comedy titled Bhoot Police was expected to go on floors in August 2019. However, the film has been pushed ahead. Now, while the makers are yet to start shooting, it appears that Arjun Kapoor has replaced Ali as the ghosthunter in the film. A leading daily's report has it that Arjun joined hands with Saif to lead the film. Confirming the development, Pavan told the daily that the Bollywood actors are 'perfect fit' for Bhoot Police which is touted to be a 'crazy entertainer'.

"We are excited to bring this spooky adventure-comedy and really happy to have Saif and Arjun join the team as they are a perfect fit for this crazy entertainer. Both of them will be seen in very different avatars and will bring their trademark humour to the script," Pavan told the daily.

A source close to Bhoot Police told the daily that the film will go on floors by the year-end. Stating that the script is close to Pavan, who has previously directed horror genre films like Ragini MMS and Phobia, the source mentioned that Bhoot Police will be mounted on a scale that enhances the thrills and chills with a dash of humour. "The script is very close to his heart and given the adventurous elements in the story, the film requires to be mounted on a certain scale to enhance the thrills and chills along with the laughs," the source said.

Bhoot Police marks Saif and Arjun's first collaboration. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri.
