On February 28, 2020, Tiger Shroff announced the sequel to his debut film Heropanti. Marking his third collaboration with director Ahmed Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, the actor left fans excited to see him in a different avatar once again. While the original film introduced Kriti Sanon to Bollywood, avid cine-goers are excited to know who will be paired opposite Tiger in Heropanti 2. As per reports, not Kriti, but Sara Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif are the top contenders for the role. A source close to the development told an entertainment portal that Heropanti 2 will be mounted on a larger canvas and will also allow the actress to pack some punches. Considering that some terrific action sequences are included, Katrina's name popped up first. The makers, reportedly, feel Katrina and Tiger's pair will look good onscreen.
"It's a toss up between Sara Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif for the main heroine's role. Unlike Heropanti, the second part will be mounted on a bigger canvas and will have some terrific action setpieces specially designed for it. Not just Tiger, the film's storyline allows the actress to also show her action prowess. So when they were thinking of an action heroine, Katrina's name was the first to pop up and they do feel that Tiger and Katrina's pair will look very good on screen too," the source.
Speaking of Sara, the source said producer Sajid is in talks with her too. If things materialise, it will be the 25-year-old actress's first action thriller. "Sara has not done an action film before but it's not that she can't do it. Sara and Sajid have been in talks to collaborate on a film together and this will be their first, if this turns out to be true," the source added.
Heropanti released in 2014 and was directed by Sabbir Khan. Though the film was criticised by the critics, it became a huge commercial success due to Tiger's dance, action sequences and chemistry between the lead pair.
