Former captain of the Indian cricket team-Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. Hailed as 'captain cool', the cricketer confirmed his retirement via video on Instagram on the occasion of India's Independence Day. Sharing priceless moments of his cricketing career, Dhoni captioned the video as, "Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired". Soon, fans, colleagues and family members got emotional and penned heartfelt goodbye notes for him.
Paying a tribute to Dhoni through their topical graphic, Amul, on Instagram today, wrote, "Oh Mahi, Oh Rahi... tu kahin na ruka haar ke!" The picture featured Dhoni walking out of the stadium while waving goodbye to all.
Amul, apart from this, shared a compilation of all the graphics dedicated to Dhoni in the past. Sharing the same on Instagram, they wished him for the next innings of his life. "We wish all the best to M S Dhoni @mahi7781 for the next innings in his life!" the caption read.
Along with Dhoni, Suresh Raina also announced his retirement with an Instagram post. "It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind!," Raina wrote while sharing a picture with Dhoni and other cricketers.
