Watch: Ayushmann Khurrana croons 'O Mere Dil Ke Chain', Lata Mangeshkar pays tribute to Kishore Kumar on his 91st birth anniversary


Ayushmann Khurrana on Tuesday paid tribute to legendary singer Kishore Kumar on his 91st birth anniversary and said that he has always been his huge fan. Ayushmann shared a throwback video on Instagram, where he sings O Mere Dil Ke Chain from the 1972 film Mere Jeevan Saathi Ayushmann, who also an accomplished singer and has given a number of hits said, "I am a huge fan of Kishore Kumar and this is one of my all time favourites. I can pretty much hear it all day on loop."

The actor said Kishore Kumar could sing any genre of music. "Kishore Kumar had a magical voice. He could sing any genre of music - be it soulful, peppy or even sad. He had a different perspective to life and a unique sense of humour," he added. The actor had recorded the video a few years ago and shared it on the photo - sharing website. He captioned the clip, "Happy birthday Kishore da! #KishoreKumar This video was shot in July 2018, Krakow, Poland. We were shooting the climax of Andhadhun and @akshayvarma04 and I jammed in between shots, as usual.”

On the other hand, Bollywood playback legend Lata Mangeshkar took to social media to remember Kishore Kumar on his 91st birth anniversary. "Namaskar. Aaj hamare Kishore da ki jayanti hai. Kishore de ek harfan maulaa the. Din bhar sabko hasaana ye unka pasandida kaam tha, main to unko milne ke baad ek pal bhi hanse bina reh nahi sakti thi. Ye sab hote hue bhi apne kaam mein wo 100 per cent sure hote the (today is Kishore da's birth anniversary. Kishore da was an all-rounder. He loved making people laugh all through the day, I would keep laughing every time we met. Despite all this, he was 100 per cent sure about his work)," Mangeshkar wrote on her verified Twitter account on Tuesday.

She attached a video link of the evergreen hit Jai jai Shiv Shankar from the 1974 film Aap Ki Kasam featuring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz, which is one of her most popular duets with Kishore Kumar. Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar have delivered countless melodious hits in Bollywood, from the the 1960s to the '80s.

Some of their biggest duets include Tere Bina Zindagi Se, Gaata rahe mera dil, Bheegi bheegi raaton mein, Dekha ek khwab, Tere mere milan ki yeh raina, Tum aa gaye ho noor aa gaya hai and Iss mod pe jaate hain. Kishore Kumar passed away on October 13, 1987.
