A few days ago, reports of Dia Mirza's and R Madhavan's Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein getting a sequel after 19 years left fans excited. While producers are yet to issue an official confirmation, Madhavan who played the role of Maddy aka Madhav Shastri in the romantic drama shared his opinion. Madhavan, on Twitter, mentioned that he has no idea about the sequel and hoped that it is true. He further added that an age-appropriate script is developed for Dia and him to reprise their respective roles.

Speaking of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel, a leading daily's report indicated that the makers were toying with the idea of taking the franchise forward for over a decade. Now, they came up with an appropriate script that is in its final stage. As per a source close to the development, Madhavan and Dia were approached to reprise their roles as Maddy and Reena. Directed by Gautam Menon, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was produced by Vashu Bhagnani and also featured Saif Ali Khan.
