Karan Johar pens a heartbreaking note on Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, 'I blame myself for not having been in touch'

Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on Sunday morning by hanging himself at his Mumbai residence. The actor, 34, took the drastic step after reportedly suffering from depression for the past six months. Sushant's maid and friends broke open the door to find him dead and informed the police, who is currently investigating the case. The news jolted Bollywood and celebrities poured out their heartfelt condolences. Karan Johar, who closely worked with Sushant for the Netflix film Drive, penned a heartbreaking note for the actor. The filmmaker apologised for not being in touch with him for a year and sharing problems. Karan remembered Sushant's infectious smile and bear hug.

"I blame myself for not being in touch with you for the past year..... I have felt at times like you may have needed people to share your life with...but somehow I never followed up on that feeling...will never make that mistake again...we live in very energetic and noisy but still very isolated times ...some of us succumb to these silences and go within...we need to not just make relationships but also constantly nurture them....Sushants unfortunate demise has been a huge wake up call to me ...to my level of compassion and to my ability to foster and protect my equations.....I hope this resonates with all of you as well....will miss your infectious smile and your bear hug," Karan wrote while sharing a picture with Sushant.
