On November 8, 2019, Akshay Kumar released his first-ever music video. Titled Filhall, it also featured Kriti Sanon's younger sister Nupur Sanon as Akshay's leading lady. Now, seven months later, Filhall continues to rule chartbusters. As a result of its popularity, Akshay's and Nupur's music video became the 50th fastest song to cross 800 million views on Youtube World Charts. Not just this, but Filhall is the only Indian song on the list! Well, Akshay's Midas touch has created magic once again.
Filhall was composed by B Praak and was written by Jaani. The music video was directed by Arvindr Khaira. Filhall revolved around estranged lovers married to different people. However, their sudden encounter brings alive their repressed love for each other. Despite realising that they are in a committed relationship with their partners, they are unable to erase each other's memories.
Owing to Filhall's massive popularity, Akshay, Nupur, B Praak and Jaani have planned to come up with its sequel. Filhall 2 was announced on January 23 this year and its first poster was also shared. Akshay and Nupur are yet to start shooting for the same.
Workwise, Akshay is waiting for the release of Sooryavanshi once the theatres reopen. He has Laxmmi Bomb, Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey and Bell Bottom in the lineup.
