Watch: Sushmita Sen remembers her ‘Miss Universe 1994’ winning moment, thanks beau Rohman Shawl as he pens a lovely wish for her

It’s been 26 years today since Sushmita Sen created history by winning the Miss Universe crown in 1994. It was the first time India had won the title at the most prestigious beauty pageant. Celebrating the occasion, her beau Rohman Shawl took to Instagram to share a throwback collage of the beauty queen wearing the crown and the sash. 

He captioned the collage, “26 years My Jaaan How proud you made all of Us & still continue to do so!! #Mine I love you @sushmitasen47.” Sushmita had clinched Miss India 1994 crown defeating favourite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a thrilling tie and went on to become the first Indian beauty to win the Miss Universe title as well. Ever since she has been a role model to countless of women and young girls across the world.
