'I don’t see anything wrong with that,' says Arjun Kapoor on Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar getting a direct-to-web release

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, after Namaste England in 2018, were all set to reunite on-screen with Dibakar Banerjee's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The film, post many delays, finally got March 20 as the release date. However, as fate had it, the black-comedy along with several other big-budget films got pushed ahead indefinitely due to the nationwide Coronavirus lockdown. The lockdown of theatres and public places was imposed a week before Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar's release. With a number of top producers considering an OTT opening for their films, rumours indicate that the Yash Raj Films' venture will also stream on web platforms. Talking about the same, Arjun, who plays the role of Pinky Dahiya, during an interview with an entertainment portal, told that there is nothing wrong if a project gets a direct-to-web release. He further added that as an artist, the medium isn't important but putting across content for the viewers is.

“I’m not involved in the selling and buying of any of my films. My producers are more involved with that bit. That is a reality for certain films that might choose that path. I don’t see anything wrong with that. As an artist, if you look at the purity of it right now, the medium is not important. Getting your material out there is important. And for that, if certain films have to be released on digital, I don’t see anything wrong in it," Arjun told.
