Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Deepika Padukone to discuss the importance of mental health with WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros

Deepika Padukone has time and again discussed the importance of mental health and in fact, she is one of the first celebrities to make an effort to reduce the stigma attached to it. Now as COVID-19 pandemic grips the world, the actress is teaming up with Dr Tedros, director-general of World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss the importance of mental health during the ongoing crises.

Deepika made the announcement on Sunday on her Twitter account, sharing that she will have an Instagram Live session with Dr. Tedros on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 PM IST.

She also took to Instagram stories to put a questionnaire for her followers, thereby asking them to put forth any questions ahead of the session. The WHO Director-General also conveyed his gratitude to her for her ‘efforts and advocacy’ on the importance of mental health. He further added that the world was ‘together’ to fight the pandemic. 

Meanwhile, apart from Deepika, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had earlier collaborated with WHO to provide authentic information and also to raise awareness about the coronavirus.
