Amid COVID-19 lockdown, Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, Preeti Simoes and 90 other producers unite to help stray animals with food inside Film City

Due to the COVID-19 shutdown, stray animals have been affected the most as there's no source of food left for them. However, producers and popular TV celebs have come for their rescue and have joined hands with SaveThePaws to help the stray animals. Producer Preeti Simeos, who is leading the initiative, revealed that she was informed about the bad state of the stray animals by a few watchmen from Filmcity. She also revealed that filmmakers like Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, and 90 others have come forward to provide food to the stray animals.

Talking about the same Preeti told a leading daily, "Yesterday (April 4), a few watchmen from Film City got in touch with us and briefed us about the situation of animals inside as no one is feeding them. With shooting being shut the animals are finding it difficult to survive as they have no food. Usually, most of the animals who are on streets survive on the garbage that piles up outside but in Film City as the shoots are halted at the moment, there is no garbage. One can't enter filmcity as you need police permission and the NGOs who intend to help were also not able to reach there. The animals were dying of hunger. We went inside and saw the conditions of the dogs were very bad, only a few sets like The Kapil Sharma Show were able to provide food to the dogs on their sets."

She further added, "So, today, the entire Producers group came together like Rohit Shetty has given a huge donation. Farah Khan's daughter Anya is sketching and she is selling them for Rs 1000. Tiill now she has given us Rs 70, 000 from her side by selling these sketches for feeding the animals. 90 producers of television like Rajan Shahi, Kavita Barjatiya, Fazila from SoL, Sandeep Sikcand, Saurabh Tiwari and a few actors Roopali Ganguly, Jaya Bhattacharya , Bharti Singh, Arjun Bijlani, Karishma Tanna, Monalisa all have came together to help. We are now providing 20 kgs dog food packets on every set so that the watchmen can feed them food. I am also buying bananas for monkeys and food grains for birds. All these producers were already working towards collecting money for the daily wages workers and now all have joined hands to help the stay animals. SaveThePaws has come ahead to take the initiative ahead."

Now, that's some great work of unity.
