Dipika Chikhlia picks Alia Bhatt to step into her shoes as Sita in the new-age 'Ramayan', says Hrithik Roshan can make for a 'good' Lord Ram

It won't be wrong to say Arun Govil's and Dipika Chikhlia's Ramayan is one of the cult classics India has ever watched. With no fancy set-ups but focused on phenomenal acting, the mythological show has its place in the glorious history of Indian television. Now, after nearly 3 decades, Ramayan has made a comeback on small screens with its repeat telecast during Coronavirus lockdown. Owing to the ban on shootings of new films and shows to curb the spread of the novel COVID-19, Doordarshan re-launched the epic on March 28. Talking about the re-run with an entertainment portal, Dipika, who immortalised the character of Sita on television, told that she would like to see Alia Bhatt step into her shoes in the new-age Ramayan while Hrithik Roshan will make for a 'good' Lord Ram. She further added that Ajay Devgn can be the next Ravan and Varun Dhawan, the new Lakshman.

"Sita was not a tall lady. Her head would reach exactly till Lord Ram’s chest. So, maybe someone like Alia Bhatt. I feel Hrithik Roshan would make for a good Lord Ram. Ajay Devgn will be excellent as Raavan. As far as Lakshman goes, I feel Varun Dhawan might be a good option," Dipika told.
