Many Bollywood celebrities have come forward to support Narendra Modi's PM CARES fund in order to do their bit to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Actor Akshay Kumar has announced that he will donate Rs 25 crore to the fund while other celebs like Varun Dhawan, Salman Khan, Rajkummar Rao and many more have also contributed to PM Modi's funds and the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund.
Now joining the bandwagon are Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. The two shared on Instagram that they will be lending their support to the PM-CARES Fund and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Without revealing the amount unlike other celebs, Virat wrote, “Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona.” Anushka released a similar statement on social media.
The Indian Cricket team’s captain and his Bollywood actress wife have also been raising awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby urging people stay at home amidst the lockdown.
Apart from them. Kartik Aaryan too has contributed Rs 1 crore to the PM-CARES Fund. Revealing the same on social media, he wrote, "We need each other now more than ever. Let’s show our support."
The COVID-19 pandemic has gripped the nation already with more than 1100 people infected.
