The sudden outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has brought the whole world to a standstill. With the number of infected increasing at an alarming rate per day, the Indian Government, as well as the Maharashtra State Government, has announced a sort of shutdown across various states. Now, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in his recent speech, addressed the citizens to stay at home yesterday and called for a 'Janta Curfew'. Supporting this decision of Mr.Modi, Bollywood celebrities have joined hands to request their fans to stay at home and be safe.
Mr. Modi, under the initiative of Janta Curfew, asked the citizens to clap, blow a conch shell or use utensils to make noise as an ode to those who have been working tirelessly for the safety of the city. As the clock struck 5 pm, as instructed, Bollywood celebrities joined others in applauding the unsung heroes who work for the safety of the city. Katrina Kaif was also seen cheering with the help of utensils. She was spotted on her building's terrace.
While the spirit was high in India, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is currently in the US, cheered for her country as well as others who relentlessly work for the well-being of the citizens.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan, while applauding the officials of essential services, shared a unique video on his Instagram. The actor, with the help of his film clips and scenes, informed people about the symptoms of Coronavirus and how to deal with the pandemic.
Shraddha Kapoor, with her father Shakti Kapoor and brother Siddhanth Kapoor, clapped and cheered from the balcony.
Ishaan Khatter was seen cheering, but with a musical twist.
Ayushmann Khurrana was also spotted cheering for the officials who worked for the city's safety.
