Watch: Karisma Kapoor’s daughter Samaira turns to acting as she stars in Ananya Panday’s younger sister Rysa’s short film ‘Daud’

After Karisma Kapoor recently made her comeback to acting with web series Mentalhood which is also her digital medium debut, her daughter Samaira Kapur has also turned to acting. The star kid recently acted in a short film Daud which is directed by non-other-than Ananya Panday’s younger sister Rysa Panday. The film also stars Shanaya Kapoor’s brother Jahaan Kapoor.

The film shows Samaira in a supporting role while Dhaniti Parekh plays the main lead. The film is a feel-good story about a young poor girl from Mumbai who helps her mother make ends meet by selling pencils and erasers. However, she has dreams of becoming a sprinter and playing for the country. On a chance encounter, she competes against Samaira, Jahaan and Dhaniti as they train and beats them. The well-to-do star kids help the poor girl to buy shows and encourage her to live her dream.

Daud is written and directed by Rysa and is produced by her father Chunky Panday. Besides Daud, Samaira has also acted and directed a short film in 2015 when she was ten years old. The film made it to the International Children’s Film Festival of India and the Little Director’s category.
