'There were times when we sitting on each other’s laps only,' quips Vicky Kaushal about Ranveer Singh and him playing warring brothers in 'Takht'

Filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming period drama Takht has become one of the highly anticipated and trending films of recent times. With a stellar cast including Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, the Mughal era drama has grabbed eyeballs of avid cinema watchers. Now, after many delays, the film is all set to go on floors this month. As the actors are gearing up for the shoot with rigorous preparations, Vicky, during an interview with an entertainment portal, spoke about starring opposite Ranveer Singh as his warring brother.

The actor, who was recently seen in Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship, told that his bonding is extremely strong with Ranveer, so much so, they even used to sit to each other's laps. Vicky said it will be difficult to play warring brothers in Takht. "I love him. I absolutely love him. There were times when we sitting on each other’s laps only. It’s going to be a bit difficult to play warring brothers but I’m looking forward to working with him,” Vicky told.

Talking about Takht, Vicky further added that the film will explore every actor's energy and said that the period drama has a different setup than the others. “It is a completely different setup. We don’t know each other’s energies yet. It’s always fun when you collaborate with people and discover each other’s energy and play with it. I am very excited to get on with the table read and workshops and all of that which will be a fresh thing for all of us,” Vicky added.

Takht is a historical drama based on the Mughal Era and revolves around the power struggle between Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan(Anil)’s son Dara Shikoh (Ranveer) and Aurangzeb (Vicky). The film will go on floors in March with a start to finish schedule. Takht will release on December 24, 2021.
