Akshay Oberoi to play Kareena Kapoor Khan's husband in Karan Johar's historical venture 'Takht'?

Filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming film Takht is set to release on December 24 next year. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor, and will mark KJo's return to big screen direction for the first time since his 2016 release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Now we hear that Akshay Oberoi, who was last seen in Junglee (2019) and has been part of digital shows like Law and Honour and The Test Case, has been roped in to play Kareena's husband in the film. According to a report in a leading daily, Akshay has landed a plum role in Karan's upcoming historical venture. Well, if that's true, we cannot wait to see him star alongside Bebo on the silver screen.

Recently, Karan had shared a small teaser video of Takht, which showed a golden throne and a voice over is heard saying, "Mughal shehzaadon ke liye Takht ka raasta apno ke taboot se hokar jaata tha. Agar yeh raasta mohabbat se hokar jaata toh shayad Hindustan ka itihaas kuch aur hota." The film is about the Mughal rivalry for the throne between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shukoh. While Ranveer Singh plays Dara, Vicky is cast as Auranghzeb.
