Watch: 9 women, 1 room and a stark reality, the trailer of Kajol starrer short film 'Devi' leaves us intrigued for more

Ever since Kajol's short film debut titled Devi was announced, her fans can't keep calm. The actress who was seen in a brief yet crucial role in her husband Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, will be seen in a powerful character in Devi. The short film is said to revolve around the tale of nine oppressed women who belong to different strata of society and face the dilemma of sharing their space and stories in the social circumstance wherein tragedy and pain is normal. Apart from orbiting around a poignant narrative, the film will celebrate women power. Now, after much wait, the makers of Devi shared the first trailer on social media platforms.

The trailer, apart from Kajol, features Shruti Hassan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashaswini Dayama. The video opens to these nine women inside a room. However, moments later, they break into an argument. Kajol calms them down and reminds them of the ‘reality’ because of which they are under the same roof. The trailer doesn’t give out many details and leaves us intrigued to find out more.

Devi is directed and written by debutante Priyanka Banerjee. It is produced by Niranjan Iyengar's and Ryan Stephen's Electric Apples Entertainment. The short film will release on March 2, 2020.
