Salman Khan to play a Sikh cop opposite Aayush Sharma's gangster on the run in Abhiraj Minawala's next?

Salman Khan is a bonafide superstar. Be it action or romance and even comedy, the actor has done it all. While Salman is known to be a hit with the masses for all his characters to date, his cop roles are undoubtedly every person's favourite. Offering a balance of action with a dash of quirk and humour, the 54-year-old actor has given a new definition to police in Indian cinema with films like Dabangg to name a few. Now, as the superstar is shooting for his upcoming action-thriller Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and has Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali in the lineup, Salman has reportedly signed yet another action thriller wherein he is said to play a Sikh cop.

According to reports of a leading daily, Salman will be joined by his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma who is likely to play a gangster on the run. A source close to the development informed that the Bodyguard actor will sport a beard and turban for the yet-to-be-announced film by Abhiraj Minawala of Loveyatri fame. “Salman has played cops before, but what excited him about this one is that he’s a Sikh cop. He will be growing a beard for real and wears a turban. He will undergo multiple look tests next week with his team,” the source told.

The source further informed that Salman won't be shown engaging in a romantic relationship and will be an honest cop whose primary aim is his mission to hunt down Aayush's gangster. Delving more into the details, the source added that Aayush will be bulking up physically for the character. "There won’t be an actress opposite Salman. His is an honest, upright, no-nonsense cop on a mission. However, the hunt is on for a leading lady for Aayush, a gangster on the run. He will sport a rugged look and will bulk up for the role since Salman and he have several confrontations,” the source added

Informing about details regarding the film going on floors, the source told that Salman has already given his dates and is eyeing a year-end release or an early 2021 opening. “Salman has allotted bulk dates for the shoot and he is looking at a year-end or early 2021 release. It will wrap up by September following which he moves on to Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali,” the source said. As per the report, the film will kickstart in May and end by September this year.
