Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu mourns Wendell Rodricks' untimely death, clarifies she holds no grudges against the late designer

Veteran fashion designer Wendell Rodricks (60) passed away in Panaji, Goa, on Wednesday evening. The Padma Shri awardee was an environmentalist and a gay rights activist who had been suffering from a prolonged illness, to which he succumbed at 5.45 p.m. on Wednesday. His untimely death came as a shock to many and several B-town celebs mourned his demise.

Now Priyanka Chopra Jonas' mother Madhu Chopra reacted to his death and told a portal that she had no grudges against Rodricks and that he was a nice guy. Recalling that Priyanka worked with him in her 2008 film Fashion, she added that he was a “great, talented man.” Madhu pointed out, “I couldn’t believe yesterday evening that Wendell is no more. He had just brought in two puppies to his house to shelter them. He was an ardent dog-lover. Life is so unpredictable.”

For the unversed, Wendell had Priyanka's picture on Instagram, where she is seen seated beside her sister-in-law Danielle Jonas at the Grammy Awards 2020. In the caption of the post, he took a dig at the outfit's neckline and wrote, "neckline goes all the way from LA to Cuba". Soon after, he was slammed left, right and centre for his post and netizens pointed out that he has body shamed Priyanka. However, he claimed in another social media post that his comment was more about “dress shaming than body shaming.”

His mortal remains were laid to rest in his ancestral village of Colvale in North Goa after a solemn funeral ceremony on Thursday evening.
