Imtiaz Ali last helmed Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starer Jab Harry Met Sejal. Now he is all set to explore love relationships again with the sequel of his 2009 hit film Love Aaj Kal. The film stars Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan in lead roles. The film shows love stories of two different eras -— the first is set in the late 1980s–early nineties, and unfolds between Raghu and Leena. The other love story, set in present time, happens between Veer and Zoe. While Kartik plays Raghu and Veer, Sara has been cast as Zoe and Arushi Sharma plays Leena.
Nonetheless, Imtiaz has often been accused of repeating the same plot in his films and it happened yet again when he announced Love Aaj Kal 2. Now during a recent interview, Imtiaz was asked about the same, to which he replied, "I look at it seriously sometimes but the reason I am here is to have fun. I enjoy the work that I do. I enjoy writing and directing. These are the stories that come to me directly. There is no way of artificially inseminating a story. It is not organic to me. Also, sometimes it is easy to confuse the envelope with the letter. The envelope might look the same, it is not necessary for the letter to be the same. When I write there is usually a guy and a girl and something happens between them, but it is a different discovery each time."
Well, we hope Imtiaz breaks the image with his upcoming film, which is slated to release on February 14.
