After 'Jersey', Shahid Kapoor to play the lead role in a patriotic film backed by Dharma Productions?

Shahid Kapoor is busy shooting for his upcoming film, titled Jersey. The film is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit film of the same name. The Hindi version will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who had also directed the original. It will narrate the story of a talented but failed cricketer named Arjun, who decides to make a comeback in his late thirties and play for India, in order to fulfil his son's wish. The Hindi version also features Mrunal Thakur, is being presented by Allu Aravind, and produced by Aman Gill and Dil Raju.. 

Now we hear that the actor has signed up for another project, which will be backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. According to a report in a leading daily, the project belongs to the patriotic genre and will be helmed by a newcomer director. The rest of the cast and details are still under wraps. Apparently, Shahid wants to invest undivided attention on Jersey. Thus, he will begin shooting for his next film only after Jersey wraps up.

The actor was last seen on the big screen in the 2019 film Kabir Singh -- the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy.
