Maybe it's getting difficult to get two heroes together, I have been lucky: Rohit Shetty on why Bollywood has stopped making buddy cop comedies

Rohit Shetty with his cop universe has done the unthinkable- brought three superstars together in one frame. In an interview with an entertainment portal, he spoke about Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn coming together in his film Sooryavanshi, and putting a new spin to bromance after a considerable amount of time in Bollywood.

Rohit has been roped in to promote the Hollywood film Bad Boys for Life starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in India. During the interview, Rohit spoke why he thinks the same buddy cop/comedies have become a rarity in Bollywood now. Responding to the question that why he thinks filmmakers stopped tapping this genre that was a hit among the audience, Rohit said, “I really don't know why people didn't think about it. Maybe it's getting difficult to get two heroes together or maybe two stars together.”

He further added, “I have been lucky enough and when we started Singham we never thought about it. While developing Singham Returns and while developing Simmba, we thought about it that let's try to create our own universe. It was a big risk but it worked for us and I am happy that no other guy is making this, I am the only one.”

Rohit’s last release, Simmba had Ranveer in the lead but Ajay played a special appearance in it that was loved by the audience. Now, for Sooryavanshi, Rohit has managed to bring Ajay and Ranveer for the climax of Akshay’s Sooryavanshi as well.
