Shah Rukh Khan’s paternal cousin Noor Jehan dies of oral cancer in Pakistan's Peshawar

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's paternal cousin Noor Jehan passed away at the age of 52 on Tuesday in Pakistan's Peshawar. As per a report in a leading daily, Noor's husband Asif Burhan confirmed that she was suffering from oral cancer.

For those caught unaware, SRK's cousin lived in in Mohallah Shah Wali Qataal area close to Peshawar’s Qissa Khwani Bazaar. She was politically active and had previously served as a district and town councillor. In fact, she had even filed nomination papers for the provincial assembly PK-77 seat in the 2018 General Elections before withdrawing at the last moment. Reportedly, her husband Asif has revealed that Shah Rukh’s father and Jehan’s father were siblings and she used to speak to SRK on phone on several occasions. Noor had even visited Shah Rukh in India in 1997 and 2011.

Work wise, Shah Rukh was last seen in 2018 film, Zero, which tanked at the box office. Now the suspense over Shah Rukh Khan’s next film continues. While SRK might go ahead with Rajkumar Hirani for a film, there has been a buzz that he is also in talks for South filmmaker Atlee Kumar’s action-masala film and Raj-DK’s comedy-action thriller. Well, we await a final confirmation from the actor himself.
