'Ab tumhare ko bhi paper dikhaane hai kya?': Taapsee Pannu hits out at a Twitter user who questioned her if she was an Indian

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is known to speak her mind, recently shut down a troll with her savage response. Recently, a Twitter user asked her if she was an Indian, she replied by saying, “Ab tumhare ko bhi paper dikhaane hai kya? (Do I have to show my documents to you also?)”

The incident happened when shared a news article about the arrest of the main accused in the violence at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, the site of Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev’s birth, in Pakistan. “Chalo ab humaari baari,” she wrote, taking a dig at the recent attacks on Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

For the unversed, on Sunday, a masked mob had entered JNU campus in Delhi and assaulted students and teachers, leaving over 30 students injured. On Monday, several Bollywood personalities including Taapsee came out on the streets here and held peaceful protests against the attack on students.

Work wise, Taapsee will next be seen in Thappad, which is said to revolve around a woman who walks out of a marriage after her husband raises his hand on her. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on February 28.
