'Betiyan aage aa gayi hai, it is a big progress': Gulzar on women taking the forefront at Chhapaak Title Song Launch; Watch

Meghna Gulzar's upcoming film Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles has undoubtedly caught the attention of the nation with its riveting narrative that is blending with a heartwarming tale of an acid attack survivor. Inspired by the story of Laxmi Agarwal who battled all odds and emerged as a winner, Chhapaak is one of the highly anticipated films of 2020. Now, as the film is inching closer to its release, the team held an event to launch the title track of the film on Friday. During the event, Gulzar who has written the lyrics of the song, spoke about the progress of women and the change in the way the society looks at them in the current times.

Gulzar, who has been associated with some of the finest films that revolved around women and their way to look at a situation, told there is a movement in the society that is for nothing but a positive change. The veteran filmmaker, poet and writer further added that female stars in cinema have now taken a step ahead and are at par or advanced than men. From acting to producing to directing, they have established their own foothold and made an identity for them which wasn't the case in earlier films.
