'Chhapaak': Deepika Padukone joins hands with regional cinema actresses Sonam Bajwa, Sonali Kulkarni and Nithya Menen to help spread awareness about acid attack

Deepika Padukone is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Chhapaak, co-starring Vikrant Massey. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is based on the true story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and DP plays the protagonist's role. 

Now the actress has joined hands with regional cinema actresses Sonam Bajwa, Sonali Kulkarni and Nithya Menen to help spread awareness about acid attack. Sharing a photo with Sonam, who is a well known name in Punjabi cinema, Deepika wrote, "My conversation with @sonambajwa was incredibly insightful, inspiring and filled with laughter! Thank You, Sonam for the love and energy!"

She then shared a photo with Sonali, a leading Marathi actress, and captioned it, "@sonalikul I’m holding you to the ‘veren’ & ‘bhat’ (Maharashtrian meal) offer! Thank You for your love and energy!"

Last but not the least, Deepika posted a picture with Sotuh star Nithya and wrote, "For those of you who didn’t know(I didn’t either until her big reveal!)not only are we from the same city, we are also from the same college!!! Thank You @nithyamenen for your love & warmth!"

Chhapaak releases on January 10.
