Shahid Kapoor is 'sleepless and anxious' as he kickstarts 'Jersey' shoot, hopes to 'find truth in this new journey'

Shahid Kapoor was last seen in much-talked about film Kabir Singh, which featured Kiara Advani as well. Now the actor is all set to feature next in Jersey, a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name. The Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original film. The story is about a talented but failed cricketer named Arjun, who decides to make a comeback in his late thirties and play for India, in order to fulfil his son's wish. Shahid's film also features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.

Meanwhile, the actor has been under the weather for a while, and his doctor has advised him to put hold on all work commitments and take bed rest. Thanking everyone for their wishes, he tweeted that he is now both 'sleepless and anxious'  as he kickstarts Jersey's shoot on December 13.

His last film Kabir Singh saw him play a highly controversial character, who was touted to be a misogynist with anger issues. Although he has cleared his stance on why he took up the film, he once again hinted at the same in his recent tweets. Claiming that he is drawn to weak characters, Shahid tweeted:

Last but not the least, Shahid requested the audience for 'love and best wishes' as he hopes to 'find truth in this new journey'.

Jersey is being presented by Allu Aravind, and produced by Aman Gill and Dil Raju.
