Ranveer Singh's upcoming sports biopic titled '83 has been the most anticipated film of 2020. Ever since the first look of the actor from the project came upfront, fans have been waiting to watch the magic unveil on screen. In addition to this, what makes the film more special and awaited is the reunion of Ranveer with his real-life wife Deepika Padukone after tying the knot in 2018. The couple, who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat last year, will be sharing the screen space as reel couple - Kapil Dev and Romi Dev. While fans of the phenomenal actors are sent into a zone of excitement to watch DeepVeer unravel their charm on the silver screens, director Kabir Khan felt working with them was his luck and privilege. During an interview with a leading daily, Kabir, calling the pair a dream for every filmmaker, told that they are gifted actors who put forth an incredible work. Adding, he said, he was privileged and lucky to bring them together for the first time post marriage.

“They are both gifted actors who bring incredible hard work to the table. Having both of them together in a film is a dream for every filmmaker. So, I’m really privileged and lucky to get them together,” Kabir told.

Calling '83 an exciting project for him, Kabir said he is waiting to bring it out and show it to the world. “’83’ is definitely a very exciting project for me because you know it’s an unbelievable story of the underdog. We all know the story of Kapil Dev and his devils. Ranveer has put in a lot of effort and it’s visible in the photographs that we released. I think more importantly we had a blast shooting it. I always believe that the journey is as important as what happens to a film at the box office. I truly believe that if the journey is good, it always reflects in the goodwill about the film and it reflects on the screen. So, I am really excited about bringing it out and showing it to the world,” Kabir added.

'83 traces the historic victory of the Indian cricket team during the 1983 world cup. The Kabir directorial is being presented by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment. '83 also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Hardy Sandhu, and Chirag Patil among others. The film '83 would be the first-ever trilingual release for both, Ranveer and director Kabir in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Touted to be the biggest sports film of all time, ‘83 is being co-produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment. The film is scheduled to release on April 10, 2020.
