After much delay, it looks like Arjun Kapoor's and Parineeti Chopra's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar will now release on a digital platform. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film was supposed to release back in March but was pushed due to several reasons. Now, recently Arjun, who is currently promoting Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat, was asked about his film's release date and if it will release on a web platform.
When asked about its status, Arjun said in an interview, "It will release after Panipat. Yash Raj will give you a release date, I think they are waiting for Mardaanii 2 to release and then they'll announce the release date."
There were reports that the film will have a direct to digital release. When asked about that, Arjun quipped, "If you've met Adi (Aditya Chopra) and he has told you that then!"
Back in May this year when Arjun was asked about the new release date of the film and if it has been put on hold, he had said, "No, the film is ready and YRF had put out a press release on that because Sonchiriya had shifted to that same date along with Luka Chuppi and it was a very cluttered window and India’s most wanted was committed to this date. So we decided that we didn’t want to get into trying to shift a film to put in another film so Sandeep And Pinky Faraar will release immediately after India’s most wanted and Yash Raj will announce it very soon."
On the work front, Parineeti currently preparing for Saina Nehwal's biopic while Arjun is gearing up for Panipat.
