Apart from being a prostitute and even a courtesan, Gangubai was also infamous for running a sex racket along with being a drug-peddler and a hitman. And considering her story being told by Bhansali, who is known to give his films a larger-than-life and grand treatment, the veteran is said to be going soft on this stark topic, if reports of a leading daily are to be believed. As per reports, Bhansali will be whitewashing and 'glossing over the underbelly side' of the film to make the character look a little less dark and harsh.
