I want to remake ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ with a fresh face: Ajay Devgn on his debut film

As Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of his 100th film with his historical period drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The actor will hit this remarkable milestone pretty soon. However, the versatile actor is far from done. He has some interesting plans up his sleeves and the first one is to remake his debut film Phool Aur Kaante that released in 1991 and catapulted him to the big league. 

In an interview with a leading film magazine, Ajay said, “I want to remake my first film, Phool Aur Kaante (1991). I’ve thought of a new way of presenting it in keeping with the changing times. I will co-produce it with someone. I’m looking for a fresh face for that. The approach will be different but the emotional texture will be retained.”

Ajay was launched in Phool Aur Kaante along with Madhu who also made her Bollywood debut with the film. The film was directed by Kuku Kohli and was a resounding hit with its catchy songs and never-seen-before action scenes. Ajay’s father veteran action choreographer late Veeru Devgan was instrumental in providing impeccable stunt scenes for Ajay. In fact, Ajay makes his entry in the film doing a 180 degree split on two bikes that was a 'wow' moment for everyone.
It remains to be seen which actor makes the cut and would take on Ajay’s iconic role in the remake. Watch this space for more updates.
