Anushka Sharma creates a stir across Internet for raising her voice over false claims; Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and others appreciate her for the step

Anushka Sharma, on Thursday, took the Internet by storm by issuing an open letter regarding false claims made by former India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer that BCCI selectors were serving her cups of tea during the ICC World Cup held in England in June this year. The actress, who is the wife of Team India's captain Virat Kohli, in the letter cleared the air and stated she was seated in the family box and not in the selectors' area. Further stealing the deal, Anushka wrote she drinks coffee not tea. This statement of hers not just won appreciation from her millions of fans but Bollywood too extended its support to the Pari actress.

Leading the Bollywood brigade, Ranveer Singh, who is Anushka's friend and co-star of Band Baaja Baaraat and Dil Dhadakne Do, commented on her post by saying, 'Hahahaha! hard hard ... Diyela hai ... ' while Arjun Kapoor applauded her by saying, 'She hits it out f the park massive strike huge hit it’s outta here !!!' Jacquline Fernandez, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Rakul Preet Singh and several others extended their support and appreciated Anushka's efforts to speak up for the right.

For those unversed, Anushka, in the note, said that she attended just one match during the World Cup and was seated not in the selector's box but in the family box. Further adding, she cleared that all the expenses that are required to travel with Virat for matches are taken care of by her and not the association. Furthermore, Anushka mentioned to not use her name to spread sensationalism. "The latest version of these ill-intended lies is that I was being served tea by selectors at matches during the World Cup! I came to one game during the World Cup and sat in the family box and not the selectors box as reported but when has the truth mattered when it's about convenience! If you want to have a comment on the selection committee and their qualifications please do so as it's your opinion but don't drag my name into it to substantiate your claim or sensationalise your opinion. I refuse to allow anyone from using my name in such conversations," Anushka wrote.

The actress in the past faced the wrath of trolls, where she was blamed for Team India's losses and Virat's poor performances, ever since they began dating. So much so, this series continued even after they tied the knot. Not just this, Anushka became subject to severe backlash after a picture of her standing with the High Commission of India and members of the Indian cricket team went viral on social media platforms last year, during India's tour of England.
