Shahid Kapoor proves his mettle as a performer again as he begins prep for 'Jersey', first look out

Shahid Kapoor is preparing hard for the Hindi remake of Telegu film Jersey. He has already started training to hone his cricketing skills for the role of a cricketer in the film. This will be Shahid's second Telugu remake after his super hit Kabri Singh which also happened to be a Hindi remake of hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film will be directed by Gowtham Tinnauri who directed the original as well. 

A picture of Shahid from the preparation of the film went viral this morning and it clearly shows Shahid's effort to match up the looks of a cricketer. According to a source, Shahid is "learning the ropes of playing a cricketer on-screen by regularly going for the cricket sessions."

Talking about the film, Shahid had earlier said, "It took me some time to decide what to do next after 'Kabir Singh'. But the minute I saw 'Jersey', I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply. "

Jersey is a sports drama that revolves around a failed cricketer who decides to revive his cricketing career in his late 30s despite everyone being skeptical of his ability to do so. The Hindi remake will jointly be produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts and Aman Gill's Brat Films. The film will release on August 28, 2020.
