Mohabbatman Shah Rukh Khan to the rescue! The actor jumps to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's manager Archana Sadanand side after her lehenga catches fire at Bachchan's Diwali party

The festival of joy and lights, Diwali, is one of the most sought after and anticipated ones throughout the year. Be it celebrating the festival with friends and family or bringing out the newly purchased outfits, those three-four days of the occasion hold a special important across each household in India, including Bollywood celebrities. Bollywood, as Diwali arrives, step outside to attend lavish parties hosted by their industry friends. On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan held a Diwali bash at his residence which was attended by the who's who of the tinsel town. However, a few hours into the party, the celebratory mood took a sharp and unfortunate turn when Amitji's daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's manager for over a decade now, Archana Sadanand's lehenga caught fire. Soon, one of the celebrated guests of the evening, Shah Rukh Khan, with his presence of mind, rescued the lady.

As per sources, Archana's lehenga caught fire when she was standing with her daughter in the courtyard of Jalsa. After the incident, Shah Rukh rushed to Archana and put out the fire with the help of his jacket. Although the fire was put out, Archana sustained burn injuries to her hands and right leg and is currently recovering at Nanavati Hospital. The Mohabattein actor too sustained minor burns. The sources added that the fire broke out around 3 am after Archana's lehenga came in contact with a diya. "Archana was with her daughter in the courtyard when her lehenga caught fire. Those around were stunned and didn't know what to do. Shah Rukh had the presence of mind, rushed to Archana, and put out the fire. He, too, sustained minor burns while dousing the flames with a jacket. His only thought was to put out the fire."

As per hospital sources, Archana has suffered 15% burns and is kept in the ICU to avoid contact with infections. She is under the care of Dr. Devyani B Venkat, a plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Venkat is the daughter of renowned gastroenterologist Jayant Barve, who treats Amitji. The hospital sources added that Archana is recovering well and has been made to walk around in the last few days. However, visitors aren't allowed to meet her. 

An official statement from the Bachchans is awaited.
