Kartik Aaryan, of late, has become the favourite with filmmakers. The actor, with blockbusters like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Luka Chuppi, has managed to bag some plum projects including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2. And recently, there was a buzz that he has been roped in as the lead opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's yet to be announced film based on Gangubai Kothewali, a brothel madam from Kamathipura who is believed to have changed the face of the red light area. However, as per the latest development on this rumour, reports in a leading daily dismissed this and called the speculations baseless.
“These reports are baseless. Kartik Aaryan has not been approached to star opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai,” a source close to the film told.
Rumours of Kartik being considered for Gangubai Kothewali began when the actor was clicked outside Bhansali's office in the city in the last couple of days. Well, if the Luka Chuppi actor isn't a part of the film, we are wondering whether he is in talks with the filmmaker for yet another fresh project from his trunk of masterpieces.
Speaking of Gangubai Kothewali, the film became the talk of the town after Bhansali's ambitious project titled Inshallah that marked Salman Khan's collaboration with the filmmaker after almost a decade, got shelved. It was also considered as Alia's maiden venture with Salman. As per PeepingMoon.com sources, the Alia starrer will go on floors in November and an official announcement is expected soon.
