After the success of Mission Mangal, Vidya Balan started the shoot of her upcoming biopic on math wizard Shakuntala Devi on September 16, 2019. As shoot of the biopic started on last Monday, Vidya shared her first look from the film on her Instagram account and expressed her excitement. Now, the next one to join the actress in the biopic is Dangal actress Sanya Malhotra who will play the role of Shakuntala Devi's daughter Anupama Banerji.
The actress shared the news on her Instagram with a quirky video. She captioned the video as "Excitement quotient is max! Sanya told in a statement, "I am very excited to play the iconic Shakuntala Devi’s daughter - Anupama Banerji. Everyone knows the achievements of the math genius Shakuntala Devi. I’m thrilled to bring onscreen this dynamic mother-daughter relationship and equally thrilled to work with Vidya Balan. Also looking forward to my first association with Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra."
Directed and co-written by Anu Menon, the film is produced by Vikram Malhotra. It is scheduled for a Summer 2020 release.
