Karan Johar, on Thursday, woke the nation up by unveiling the mystery behind the third lead of his much-anticipated film, Dostana 2, Lakshya. Lakshya, although a new face in films, is a popular name in the telly industry, all thanks to his drool-worthy looks and great acting skills. The actor, who will be sharing the screen space with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, hasn't just signed one film but a four-film contract with Karan's production house Dharma Productions. Well, with a new actor on the block, we decided to dig out details of Lakshya and here we are.

The actor, formerly known by the name of Laksh Lalwani flagged off his career as a participant on Roadies X2 in 2015. Then, there was no looking back for 23-year-old. After impressing all with his looks, he bagged a plum role in Gul Khan produced Adhuri Kahaani Hamari, a supernatural drama. Later, he went on to share the screen space with Drashti Dhami in Balaji Telefilms’ romantic drama Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil. Well, not just this but the actor bagged the lead role in Sony TV's Porus, which played a major role in uplifting Laksh's career. Now, the interesting part is how he bagged a role in Dostana 2. Well, it is being said that Lakshya bonded well with Yash Raj Films' casting director Shanoo Sharma, who eventually played a catalyst.

The story of Lakshya doesn't end here. So as much as he was lauded for this work, the actor faced equal attention for his proximity towards his female co-stars Rashami Desai and Additi Gupta. However, as always, the ladies denied the rumours.

Speaking of Dostana 2, it is directed by Collin D’Cunha, who will also make his Bollywood debut as a director. The film is the sequel to the Tarun Mansukhani directorial by the same name and featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The story revolved around two men who pretend to be a gay couple in order to secure an apartment. Both fall in love with the same girl.
