'He is doing his duty, I'm doing mine,' says Karan Deol on father Sunny Deol's absence from 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas' trailer launch due to Gurdaspur fire factory incident

The makers of Sunny Deol's directorial Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas released the trailer of its film starring debutantes Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which borrows its title from Karan's grandfather Dharmendra's famous song of the same name from the 1973 film Blackmail, promises to take the audience on an "adventure of love".

Today, at the trailer launch event, everyone was supposed to see Sunny missing at his son's debut film's launch. The actor who has stood like a pillar of support and motivation for his son Karan could not join the team for the launch event. When Karan was asked why his father is missing, he said, "He is not here today. And prayers and condolences from the whole Pal Pal team to those families that were affected by it (Gurdaspur fire factory incident). And he is gone to do his duty and he has confidence in me that I will do mine. So, from here it is my turn to push on."

At least 23 people were killed and 27 injured after a massive explosion on Wednesday at an unauthorized firecracker manufacturing factory in a densely-populated residential area in Punjab's Gurdaspur. Several people were feared trapped under the debris and rescue work continued till late in the night. For the unversed, Sunny is the BJP MP of Gurdaspur region in Punjab and so he visited Gurdaspur immediately after the incident.
