On the occasion of Independence Day 2019, Indian Embassy in Bulgaria honours Rohit Shetty for promoting tourism through his films

It won't be wrong to say Rohit Shetty has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood within a short period of time. The director has not just given blockbuster films but also entertained us throughout with stunning locations and exciting scripts. And now, as the director begins yet another thrilling journey on television with Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 in Bulgaria, he was conferred by a special felicitation by the Indian Embassy there for promoting tourism and accounting to an increase in visitor by 23% after Dilwale being shot there in 2015. An elated Rohit shared a video from the felicitation ceremony and expressed his happiness to receive it on the occasion of Independence Day.

"This is what you call the Power of Indian Cinema. Last year Bulgaria saw 23% rise of Indian tourists after Dilwale. Feeling blessed and honoured to be felicitated by the Indian Embassy in Bulgaria that too on such a Prestigious Day. I Hope Khatron Ke Khiladi also generates the same euphoria and creates magic for the Tourism in Bulgaria... Happy Independence Day," Rohit wrote.

Dilwale starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol along with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The film comprised of key sequences in Bulgaria while some were shot in Goa. And now, once again Rohit considered Bulgaria for the latest season of the adventure-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. Work-wise, the director is busy with Akshay Kumar's-Katrina Kaif's Sooryavanshi.
